A Novel Method to Improve the Estimation of Ocean Tide Loading Displacements for K1 and K2 Components with GPS Observations

The accurate estimation of ocean tide loading displacements is essential and necessary for geodesy, oceanic geophysical studies. It common knowledge that K1 K2 tidal constituents estimated from Global Positioning System (GPS) observations are unsatisfactory because their periods nearly same to the revisit cycle or orbital period GPS constellation. To date, this troublesome problem not fully solved. In paper, we important issue develop a novel method based on unique characteristic waves separate GPS-system errors astronomical K1/K2 tides. well-known credo smoothness indicates admittances in narrow band can be expressed as smooth functions frequencies, while interference seriously damages nature observed admittances. Via quadratic fitting, frequencies determined, thus, tides interpolated using fitted functions. Three stations selected demonstrate our typicality terms poor estimates parameters related errors. After removing GPS-systematical contributions method, corrected at three much closer modeled FES2014, which one most models. Furthermore, proposed easily applied other areas correct valid global signals.
